We have been changing things up around the house! Do you remember our Closet Desk Project from a few weekends ago? Well, the photos of Auburn that are now hanging in that room came from our bedroom. I cannot say that I was sad to see them find a new home, they really do fit well in their new space.
However, our bedroom walls were left really bare!
I have been wanting to hang some large photos of the dogs on the wall. The first thought was to have some canvas prints made, but those are a little expensive, even with our discounts. While searching around Goodwill for some other items we found some great, large, frames and we were instantly inspired to re-purpose them (Actually, I think it was David’s idea)! These babies are 17 x 21 in size, and were under $7 each!
David got the spray paint on there before I could photograph the original frames, but they were a creamy color with brown details…eww! This white really cleaned them up, and a can of spray paint was certainly in the budget! You can see the old photos that were in the frames below.
I went to Hobby Lobby and had some custom mats cut. You can choose from all different styles of mat-board, I chose a white with some texture, and had an 8×10 cut in the middle.
I really liked how simple and well this project turned out! The total cost of the project was around $20 with prints!
